Our Mission

To protect the entitlement value of vacant lots in Cambria California.

Our Values

The rights of owners of vacant property to enjoy use of their property in accordance with the County's existing land use plan, or to receive fair and just compensation in return for those rights.

The rights of the Cambria community to reliable public facilities and services that will support existing and future population consistent with the current land use plan and in concert with the 2.3% annual growth rate.

The belief that managing the water system to a priority of keeping population down has and will continue to result in a sub-standard water system that is a danger to all current residents.

Balancing growth pressures with protection of the wildlife and natural habitat in and around Cambria and the quality of life in the Cambria community.

The diversity of the community's wide ranging views on growth, development, and environmental quality.

The beliefs that increasing permanent open space is a benefit to, and thus a cost that shared by all present and future Cambrians.

 Our Strategies

Document the legal entitlements of the vacant lots and present them to the community and governing authorities to establish a clear understanding of the underlying value of all lots.

Support an aggressive lot reduction and retirement program, while ensuring fair and legal compensation to sellers.

Advocate for the timely and orderly provision of an expanded water system and other public facilities and services in order to implement the community's land use plan without further disruptions.

Lobby all applicable agencies, especially the CCSD Board, to prioritize and resolve key deficiencies in Cambria's critical public facilities and services (critical facilities and services include those directly related to health and safety of the community).

Hold officials accountable for failures to expand critical public facilities and services when such inaction threatens current residents and disrupts the growth plan (i.e. a 2.3% annual growth rate).

Promote measures that will ensure all residents, both current and future, the judicious execution of the land use patterns as prescribed in the existing community land use plan and zoning map.

Support and sponsor measures that promote the efficient use of community resources, both natural and man-made, by both current and future residents in order to preserve and enhance the quality of life in Cambria.

Oppose the creation of new lots unless offset by retirement of existing lots.
